Kallie Finally Has Teeth...Sorta!

Well, at the ripe old age of 10 1/2 months, Kallie has finally cut her first two teeth! They're on the bottom, I tried to get a picture where you can really see them, but that's where the 'sorta' comes in. They've cut through, and we can see and feel them, but they're definitely not 'full grown'. She still has a pretty gummy smile most of the time. Once they're bigger, I'm sure I'll get lots of pictures with her new front teeth!

Easter.....

Well, I've been reading other people's Easter blogs, and thought I'd just give a quick update on ours...it was completely uneventful. We didn't do a single thing, not even went to church or had an Easter dinner. The reason? All three of us were SICK! It was not a good weekend, Kallie got the flu Thursday, I got a throat infection and really bad cold Friday, and Lyndon got the flu Friday night! By Sunday Kallie was pretty much all better, so my in-laws actually picked her up and took her to Easter dinner with all of our extended family...it was so great, she had a blast with all of her cousins and I know they loooooooooved having her there! She had an adorable little outfit on, but I was too out of it to even get a picture. Lyndon and I slept the entire time she was gone (over 3 hours!) so it was a nice break for us as well. I'm really glad Kallie at least got to do something on her very first Easter weekend:) Hopefully next year's will be much better!

MMMMMMM....Spaghetti!!!

Kallie is enjoying lots of different foods now, we usually feed her whatever we're eating. She's had spaghetti a few times, but we always feed it to her, instead of letting her do it herself. She's really good at feeding herself 'clean' foods like cheerios, bread, cheese etc. The only somewhat messy thing we've let her do on her own is bananas...they always end up in a paste all over the place (she does eat some though). So, when we had spaghetti the other night, we just stripped her down to her diaper, and let her go! It was really fun to watch, she's such a little ham!:) She got a lot of it in her mouth (enough for a full belly) but also got some....well, all over her body!:) We threw her in the tub right after!

Very Exciting:)!!!

Kallie Turned 10 months old in Winnipeg!

So, I thought I'd combine Kallie's '10 month update' and our trip to Winnipeg...mostly b/c I'm lazy:)

Anyhoo, the past month has again, gone by way too fast and also been tons of fun! Kallie actually hasn't done too many new things. There were 2 major developments,

1. She's started pulling herself up on everything, walking along furniture, moving from one thing to another (couch to table etc.) and loves when we hold her hands and she 'walks'. It's so cute, she takes really big steps on her own, whereas before I was just kind of dragging her (that sounds worse than it is:) I'm not sure when she'll start walking...I'm in no rush, but when she's ready, it'll happen.
2. She definitely knows the words mama, dada, and nana (banana). She says other things too, but those are the ones that we know she understands and attaches meaning to. When we're home, her favorite word is dada, but after being in Wpg. for a few days, she totally stopped saying it (b/c her dada wasn't around!) and then started again after we'd been home for about a day. And she LOVES bananas, as soon as I show her one, she gets very excited and says 'nana nana nana' over and over:)

Kallie still doesn't have any teeth! It's kinda crazy, she's the oldest baby I know without teeth, but supposedly the later they come in, the healthier the teeth are. Plus, I'm still nursing, so there's no rush for teeth:) She's seeming more and more like a little girl every day...it's really fun and exciting, but a little sad that the baby in her is slowly fading...it's not giving me the itch for another one yet though...maybe when she's sleeping:)

Kallie and I had a wonderful trip to Winnipeg. We of course missed Lyndon a lot, hopefully he'll be coming on the next one. And this was actually our last trip for awhile. I'm starting home daycare (today actually) and so my days of flying to Wpg on a whim are gone. It's going to be hard, all my best friends and family are in Winnipeg, and I miss them so much. But the more I think about it, the more it seems that it might be good to stay put for awhile. I still haven't made any really close friends in Tbay...I think partly because I still feel like half my life is in Winnipeg, and so, fully committing, and realizing....I am from Thunder Bay (oh my goodness, it's true!) will help me to form stronger relationships here. Lyndon and I are looking for a church family here...please pray that we'll find the right fit.

We had an awesome time in Winnipeg! It was definitely our best trip yet:) Now that Kallie is older, I was able to leave her with my parents without problems or worry (yay for nights out!), and I was just really relaxed and enjoyed all parts of it. We went to Steinbach and got to visit with different friends, we spent time with Mandi and Ethan which was lots of fun, and I did lots of visiting in the city too. My parents built a new house this past winter and it was my first time being there since it's been finished...it's such a gorgeous house! I had such an amazing time just hanging out there with my mom, dad and sister. Dana turned 20 the day we left, and so we had a family birthday dinner at Wasabi...the Sushi was wonderful, and it was just a great night out all together .

Anyways, I was very sad to leave...I miss everyone in Wpg. so much, but I'm so happy to be home too. We get possession of our house April 1st, which is coming up VERY quickly, so we're really excited (and a little nervous:) for that!! I'll be posting pics as we start renovating:)

The other fun thing Kallie has started to do is dance whenever she hears music, singing, or even clapping. Her 'dancing' is rocking back and forth...it's pretty funny, she kind of gets frozen and almost looks like she's doing the robot! My sister and I got quite a kick out of videotaping this:)

6 Habits/Quirks About Me....

So, I've been tagged by Mandy to do this ...it's a slow morning so I thought why not...it's going to take me awhile to think of six though....here we go...

1. I am a bad driver. I don't like driving and am really not good at it...I've been in a few accidents and whenever Lyndon and I are going somewhere together, he drives. Doesn't matter if it's a 16 hour trip out to Alberta...he drives the whole way, which suits us both just fine:)

2. I love 'gold stars'. Remember how you used to get gold stars in elementary school? I LOVE getting recognition in anything I do (hello teachers pet:) and even though I'm an adult and no longer in school, I still strive to do/be the best in whatever I'm doing, and LOVE receiving recognition for it. Yep, I'm a nerd.

3. I'm a really good speller (I know Lyndon is laughing at me right now--he gets a kick out of my nerdiness). I love spelling/words/writing/English etc. And one of my biggest pet peeves is improper grammar and poor spelling...yep, drives me nuts. Again, HUGE nerd:)~

4. I have absolutely no sense of direction. When I'm shopping, I'll walk out of a store and head back the way I came. All of my friends, Lyndon, and my parents know this about me and have to talk me through directions to get places like I'm 5:) And don't count on me remembering how to get somewhere just b/c I've been there 10 times already:)

5. Hmmm...this is getting hard, I hope the first four don't make me seem a little crazy:) Mandy, kinda copying this from you, but in the reverse. I love flying! I always have, my dad's a navigator in the military (and loves everything about planes) so I've been flying since I was very young. Every single time I get on a plane I think I want to be a pilot...I love taking off, I find it so exhilirating, and since Kallie's been born, I've gotten to fly almost every two months, which has been awesome!

6. I am probably the most indecisive person you'll ever meet. I can't make decisions about anything, and when I do it's usually b/c it's the absolute last minute and SOMETHING has to be decided. Any decision I make is up for change until it has to be final, and even then, I'll change my mind in theory but can't do anything about it b/c it's too late:)

K, I tag Mandi Carter and Erica Hildebrand...let's see what's interesting about you girls:)

Quick Update and a Few Pictures

I just wanted to write a quick update and post a few random pictures and videos...I'm trying to post more videos so that my parents and my sister can see Kallie developing more gradually...instead of being in shock whenever they see her:) Some might be a little boring, but I know they'd watch videos of Kallie sleeping:) So, in the last couple of weeks, Kallie has started pulling herself up on everything, turning different toys into walkers, and if we let her, I think she'd climb up the stairs all day long.

These are just some fun pictures, Kallie has this cute little zebra striped onesie she never wears out, but I think she looks so adorable in it, I just wanted to document the cuteness:) She's in her crib b/c we've spending lots of time playing in there where the humidifier is...she's been sick the last week and it helps so much! The pictures of her with Lyndon...she was so funny, laying back, relaxing, totally crossing her legs on her own...it's so fun to see her becoming a little girl. And the video...she had just climbed the previous flight of stairs, so she's a little tired, but still manages to make it to the top!
